I can't call the live album "Live... In The Raw" good, by any stretch of the imagination. It was a very strange release, consisting of a few old songs recorded almost live (with some overdubs), one new song “Scream Until You Like It”, and two songs that were supposedly recorded live, but were actually recorded in the studio with overdubbed crowd sounds - “Manimal” and “Harder Faster”. While the old material didn't interest me, I absolutely love all three new songs! “Manimal” was...
Not one of my favorite W.A.S.P. song but it's still really groovy. Probably it was the last “kind-of-classic” W.A.S.P. song in the band's history and it was also the first band's official video I've seen (together with “I Don't Need No Doctor”). Johnny Rod made a cool bass part too. Enjoy!
Okay, after two months dedicated to moving across the country I tried to play again and found out I have to practice a lot again just to get back somehow. You know, painting walls, dragging heavy stuff, driving huge vans, etc isn't really what my hands needed all this time. So, I just decided to start with a long-promised cover for “High On The Flames” by W.A.S.P.
One of my all-time favorite W.A.S.P. songs... which is basically every song from the first album. Take any song from that LP and I'll say “It's my favorite one” :) Still, “Sleeping” is kind of special since it's such a beautiful and unusual power ballad and I even have a friend who chose it for her first wedding dance with her husband a few years ago (hi there, Xeniya!)
Finally, it's time for one of my favorite W.A.S.P. songs, ironically from an album I don't really like - “The Last Command”. Anyway, the song is amazing and I love the bass intro!
A long time has passed since I played a W.A.S.P. song... Let's try “Sex Drive” from “The Last Command” album. As always, it's not really hard to play but I don't care because the song is so cool!
I'm a big fan of the original 1984 W.A.S.P., back in the day when Blackie and Co. were raw, bloody and could write a badass legendary song with only 3-4 notes. “B.A.D.” is exactly like that – simple, raw and damn fun to play!
Another tribute to my childhood? Definitely :) The first W.A.S.P. record was one of the first rock albums I've heard back when I was 13 or 14 years old. I didn't know anything about the band back then, but the songs were so raw and awesome that I couldn't stop listening to them! “I Wanna Be Somebody”, “L.O.V.E. Machine”, “Sleeping In The Fire”, “On Your Knees”... basically the whole album was a charger full of deadly heavy metal bullets and I still listen to it once in a while....
