The band Mono Inc. has a very special place in my heart. Between 2004 and 2009 I used to be a loyal reader of some of the leading goth music/culture magazines, like Zillo, Sonic Seducer, etc. And as I remember one of the issues had a DVD with new music videos, including the one by Mono Inc. That video for the song “Temple Of The Thorn” has just blown me away. It was definitely goth rock but with some heavy guitars and damn good riffs! Simple but full of soul and extremely catchy. Also, the band looked really good and the charisma of those guys had no limits. In 2008 I attended the “Darkstorm Festival” in Chemnitz and saw Mono Inc live for the very first time. Wow, they were good! I've been seeing them many times since then, both at various festivals and solo, and I still make sure to listen to every new album they release.
“Get Some Sleep” was one of the most popular songs from their classic “Pain, Love & Poetry” album and even though the bass part is simple I just love to play it! It's a very nice... ehm... goth'n'roll song if I'm allowed to say so. Perfect for a good highway drive!
